For Dr Jonathan and Dr Imogen, environmental sustainability is at the heart of everything they do and forms the bed rock of the core values at Aventis.
At Aventis, a healthy environment means a healthy mind and body and we consider ourselves custodians, not only of our patient’s health and wellbeing but of the environment too. Dr Jonathan and Dr Imogen recognise that we all have a responsibility to our environment, and the health of our planet, and especially to our home here on this beautiful island.
Where possible, we source items locally, including the cabinetry work throughout the practice and in all our tranquil, beautifully designed treatment rooms. We recycle all materials where possible – taking care to follow clinical and medical guidelines when disposing of other items. All our scrub uniforms used throughout the practice are eco-friendly. Aventis is also a plastic cup, straw, and bag-free practice and we have chosen to go paper-free wherever possible. This means all communication is done electronically with medical notes, pictures, invoices, and aftercare information.
Dr Jonathan and Dr Imogen are passionate about only using the highest standard of materials, and apply this approach to all our product partners. We only work with companies who are eco-conscious and do not test on animals. This extends from our medical-grade skincare such as Obagi® to the products we use in our facial aesthetic treatments. Juvederm®, for example, is produced by Allergen who not only do not test their products on animals but also have a particularly robust environmental policy and eco-friendly targets. They have also removed all cellophane, dry ice, and polystyrene from their packaging and have won sustainability and greenhouse low emission awards.
Our sustainability and environmentally friendly efforts extend to dentistry wherever medically possible. Aventis is a proudly mercury-free practice and we even use specialised amalgam separators to help ensure that mercury can’t leak into the water supply when treating patients with existing amalgam fillings. We also use the latest dry suction techniques, which helps to cut down on our water usage.
Overall, we want to care for our environment like we care for our patients and their health and wellbeing – with compassion, empathy, and integrity.
